Review:

A great way to wrap up a well loved Wallbanger. Rusty Nailed wrapped Simon and Caroline's story up seamlessly in the tradition Clayton way. We [the readers] are able to learn about Simon's past, which he has been very secretive about, and get to be the fly on the wall as their relationship ebbs and flows with their demanding careers. 

Rusty Nailed is a bit lighter on the humor, still funny mind you, a lot lighter on the Clive, but still funny and a fantastic read. Clive still has a story line, but it is closer to the end. Don't worry, it is kinda epic how it all ends.

Review:
Once again I feel that Jessica hit it out of the park with the follow-up book to her In The Company Of Killer's series. The first book in the series is Killing Sarai.
Reviving Izabel is fast paced, suspenseful and criminal read. You find yourself rooting for the bad guy(s) and cheering human torture. Who would think they would be happy reading about human torture? I can't imagine the research Jessica read to know how it works. eeks.
The Company of Killer's series is technically a romance story, but of a very different variety. If you want a romance, I don't know that you would be happy with this series. It isn't hearts and flowers. It's killing and torture and luring the bad guy while having an atypical relationship that is really quite secondary to the story. If you're looking for insta-love or steamy sex scenes, this isn't the book for you. If you're looking for an adventure, a story of survival, a story of reinvention, a story of killing, THIS is the book for you. Cheers Jessica.

Naked by Raine Miller | 4 Book Review

I had forgotten that I hadn't reviewed some on the books in this series. With the recent release of Rare and Precious Things, I thought I would go back and fix this. It is an oldie, but a goodie.

My Review:

I'm liking the first book in this series. Miller created likable and relateable characters that readers could easily connect with.

Brynn is a strong heroine (nice for a change) while Ethan is a dirty talkin' control freak with his own demons. 

The only thing that I'm kinda eh about with this book is the insta-love. I mean, yes, there is insta-love out there, and no, they didn't just get married right away, but you know it's there. There's no taking it slow. Ethan is controlling her almost past the point of alpha male.

So, is Naked a good read? Hell yes. Do I want to read book 2? Hell yes.

*Naked is very similar to the Stark Trilogy, the Entwined with you series and the Fifty Shades of Gray series. If you like any of those, you will like this series.

Review:

Sex Love Repeat has a taboo story going for it right away. There was not a small introduction to characters or a gentle nudge into the story, no, it was your dumped full into this amazing story that is totally believable and could honestly happen to anyone. 

As you can read from the description, Madison is in love with 2 different men for different reasons. They all know about it, but don't know the details. It works for them until the accident happens. That is the day every thing changed.

Madison has never wanted her two men to meet, but unfortunately the time comes and it's inevitable. They meet in the most surreal circumstances. The author gives us a nice blender moment: add one girl, add two men, blend it up and now it's time for the result. Oh, don't forget the girl who is spying on Madison. She is the cherry on top.  That twist is good, oh so good. 

The originality of the story is pretty good. It kinda was, kinda wasn't a love triangle because they were all very aware that there was one extra person totally separate from Paul and Madison and everyone involved is very okay with it. Madison always knew she would eventually have to choose, not because they would make her, but because things she wanted out of life would make her. 
I really liked Sex. Love. Repeat. A nice change for me. I've been stuck in a romance genre rut lately, and I really needed something different. This is different. You should try it.

Book Review:

Yep, something a little different. I have read the other Hollywood hunk books where they stumble upon unsuspecting regular people and fall in love with them, and Eversea isn't too different, but still different enough that it makes it a good read.

I guess what makes the book is the heroine, Keri Ann. She doesn't put up with Jack's crap, and I don't blame her. She does introduce him to new things and helps him grow as a person. That is what relationships are all about, helping the other person to push their boundaries and grow as a person. Who knew? lol

Keri Ann has great friends and a brother who help her push her boundaries. They help her realize that maybe being Jack's friend isn't such a bad thing, even if it isn't going to last.

There is a bit of a twist throughout the book that makes you wonder what the solution is. You are trying to figure it out along with the couple. However, the twist at the end was a bit of a shock. I didn't see it coming, and I pride myself on my ability to figure stuff out.

So, my final rating? 4 stars. Will I read the next one? Yep. Oh, side note. This book doesn't have much sex in it. It really does focus on the relationship. I feel like this is an important point since more-so-than-not, the romance books have had a ton of sex lately. If you want smut, this isn't it, but instead has a character driven story line.

Review:

In tradition Katy Evan's style, Remy is written fluidly and passionately. I'm not a huge fan of books that are created solely for the purpose of telling a different perspective, but in the case of Remy, that wasn't what happened.

Yes, it is Remy's voice and he tells his story of Real and Mine, while also telling the current story. Sound vague enough? I don't want to spoil anything. Katy mostly tells Remy's story from the past perspective, but there is one event that she currently throws in there that is happening in current time. 

In Remy we get to find out what really went down with Scorpian, which I was insanely excited to hear about. You also get to hear what is happening to him when he "gets put down" during that very energetic scene in Real that Brooke is so ticked off about.

I feel like I got to know a different Remington. I mean, we think we know who he is after hearing Brooke describe everything, but hearing from Remy, he is like a whole different person to me. I really got to know a different character when he described him and Brooke playing songs for each other and what he really thought about his staff.

I know there are two more books in this series and I like that Katy has left it as a blank slate. She really can go anywhere she wants to now and I excited to see what high's and low's she takes us on. I do know that Remy is a fighter; a good guy, and will always be the winner. 4 Stars.

Book Review:

I read and reviewed the first book, Now and Then and really liked it. The dorky kid in school who pines for the hunky neighbor next door. I was excited when I found out about Now and Again and it was Layla's story, the horribly popular, always gets what she wants old sister, who, by-the-way, dates the incredibly hunky neighbor next door.

In Now and Again, Layla has sworn off men and refuses to be slutty anymore. She has given up on her list that she created back in high school and is focused on her career. 

Well, when she can't reached an investigator at the police station, she goes over there unannounced all Layla style, and meets incredibly hunky Ben. 

So, I'm not sure how I completely understand how this competition all came to be, but it was full-blown on. She wouldn't let him sleep with her, made him woo her, and then they both knew that when he gets to be in charge, they were gonna do it. That part was made very clear. 

Without giving too much of the plot away, there is still a lot of jealousy happening with her sister, and Ben is helping her realize it doesn't need to be, and defends her. Hello alpha male. 

There are some hot scenes in this one, and the story keeps a great pace, just like Now and Then. Said is my best Joan Rivers voice, 4 Stars!

Book Review:
So, from the book blurb you would think that the book was written from Dexter's perspective, however, Take My Hand is written from both Dexter and Emily's perspective. I'm really starting to like this trend in books. 
Emily has a super controlling Mother and needs some freedom, so she and her BFF, Snickers, head to London for college. Okay, so Snickers isn't her BFF's real name, it is Rachel, and I absolutely adore her.
Rachel may the character that stole the story a bit for me. She is a paraplegic, tattooed, foul-mouthed awesome character that I believe should have her own book. Hear that Nicola, I hope Rachel gets her own book, because it will be hilarious!
Okay, back to the main story. I really liked this book. I was feeling this book. It was a book that I wanted to read. It was a book I couldn't wait to get back to. It was a book that sucked me in. I didn't feel bored. I didn't feel like I would rather be doing one of my other hobbies. It was a good story. 
Yes, it was a typical case of boy-doesn't-want-a-relationship-but-finds-himself-in-one-anyways-and-can't-see-himself-without-the-girl-and-pushes-her-away story. But it was also a bit suspenseful because you know he's hiding something, but you just don't know what. Don't those just piss you off sometimes? Ack.....
So, I'm reading right along hoping and thinking that I have figured it out, but I didn't have it all straight and then, BAM! out of nowhere, the ending happens. I would totally say it's a cliffhanger, but not one that pisses you off since the next book isn't ready. I mean, yes, you want to know what happens, but you can totally live until the next book is out. So, I would totally read this one instead of waiting for the next because emotionally, you'll be okay.
So, read Take My Hand. Read about Marshmellow's, Snickers, Tootsie Pops, all those people. Yep, people. Oh, we can't forget the M&M's. those are the tricky ones.....

My Review:

Now and Again is book come to live vicariously through your middle school diary of sorts. The story is written in post past and present tense, hence the title Now and Then.

I very much enjoy the few books out of the market right how that do this style of writing, and also add in both main characters thoughts throughout.

The way Cole and Emma reconnected together was just perfect. I can see that as a real situation, other than blind on-line-dating. <yikes? As a reader I could tell Cole was instantly infatuated with Emma, but Emma was still hung up on the old Cole instead of who was standing right in front of her.

As the story progresses and we learn that Emma's ?Bratty? sister always gets what she wants and she is going to get Cole. 

The wonderfully light and fun read made me pissed and irritated. I was completely irritated with every single one of them, except 
Cole. Shocker.....I know.

Movin' on. Without giving the plot away, I will say that things became more tense between people/families, cafe's ect. Whoa, a bad time was had by all during this transition period.

My most favorite line/most connected with the book line would be: I didn't get and Manolos, I got this owl at a trade show. "Designer shoes are mass produced, superficial and not all that special But this..."he held up the art deco owl, "is unique, beautiful and alluring.

Character Casting:

My Review:

AJ and Mia did get swept up in a gust of love. From backsploshing (yep, I'm using it) the orange drink on AJ's lap to Mia mocking how much he can't control himself, much less  his release, the two were a match made from destiny.
I really liked Beat of the Heart. A solid 4 star read. It does have a couple of scenes where you could see them coming or the foreshadowing was blatantly obvious, but it was a really fun, well-written read for me.
There were some yummy, down and dirty sex scenes that will get your heart pumping, but there are some deliciously sweet scenes that will make you swoon. 
I didn't find that Beat of the Heart had angst just for the sake of it. What is involved is well deserved and the appropriate response of the character. The story flows nicely and finishes the story up in a nice way. I didn't feel like the plot was rushed, it kept it's steady rhythm, just like AJ would to the beat of his drum.


I seen some comments from some fellow blogging friends and the conscientious it that you like reviews to be short and sweet, don't give anything away, and just state a general feeling or tone for the book. With that said, there are a large number of you would like to know if it is is a series (what series, book 3,etc,) is it a standalone, does it have an HEA or does it have a cliffhanger. 
To me, myself and I, I personally don't care about any of the above unless it is a cliffhanger. With the last huge batch of book that I have read, less than 1% had a unhappy ending and that seems to be a general flow in the romance genre. Maybe it would be best to say, Wait, this isn't the perfect HEA, it's something else and leave it at that.

Book Review:
I will start with I haven't read Blindfolded Innocence, the first book in the series... can I say that since this is technically a novella? Anyways, The Diary of Brad DeLuca doesn't read like a typical book. It was choppy and was meant to give the reader insight to what Brad was feeling/thinking during Blindfolded Innocence. Had I realized that, I would have read BI first, and it would have made a ton more sense! So, definitely read it first. Just from reading this novella, it seems like BI would be a great book, but reading the novella spoils BI. I know what happens and now I feel a bit jaded.  
So, overall, read Blindfolded Innocence first because I really think I would like it, this read the novella. I'm going to save the novella is 4 stars just by itself. I like the originality of the style of writing. One thing that I dislike about a lot of other novellas is they seem more of a retelling, while doing it in the style of a diary hits on the high points where it really matters and leaves the "lower" (cringe lack-of-a-better-word) points out. Don't expect it to read like a short story because it doesn't. It is a diary.
