Review:
When I first started reading This Man, I was hooked. I couldn't stop reading this book. I was so hooked that I found myself wanting to read it at work. Yep, one of those books. We also knew Jesse had a secret, and as the book went on, I figured out what is was WAY before Ava. 
About a third of the way into the book, I got so bored with all the sex happening that I skimmed. Yep, I said it. I skimmed. If it was a sex scene, I just went on to the next dialogue scene. The sex was boring to me. I personally do much care for books that insta-sex, then sex all the frackin' time. Yes, in real life people hook up. Yes, in real life people have a lot of sex, but come on. He could get hard again at a moments notice. Let's give women out there a little bit of reality in the book. It isn't bad enough that she can cum on command? 
Then, there is Jesse who is supper controlling. Ava is right to be scared. Ava is right to run away. That is not normal. That is not healthy. No matter how many times the author puts the disclaimer: "only with you Ava in there," I'm having a really hard time getting past it. There is one thing to be an alpha male and another thing to be controlling.....and Jesse IS controlling. 
So, did I like the book? Sure. Is it different from what's already out there? No. Will I read the second book (there's 3)? Not sure. 
I would say this book is similar to The Crossfire Series and the Stark Trilogy, but even those Alpha men were less controlling.

Book Review:
If you are looking for an easy to read romance without being erotica, Seven Day Fiance is right for you. There isn't really any angst or tension in the book. There isn't any drama just for the sake of drama. It is about 1 person who needs a favor, and 1 person doing the favor for them.
In the midst of the being Angelle's (awesome french name by-the-way) 7 day fiance, some feelings may have developed. It is no secret that Cane has wanted to do naughty things with Angelle, but she was worried about her heart being blown to smithereens. He's a playboy. Why wouldn't he hit it and quit it, right?
Rachel Harris traditionally writes YA and books, and I have been deep in the erotica/NA world of down and dirty, dark reads. It was refreshing to have a fun, light hearted read after some of the soul-shattering ones I have finished lately. 3 stars.

Review:
Resplendent starts out in present but quickly moves to the past telling the story of Andre and Savannah. The story tells how they became friends during high school, but were lovers that couldn't be together because of girl code.
As their life progresses, and Andres wants Savannah, circumstances become great, shocking if I do say so. Can they be together and make a future for themselves?

My takeaway:

I really felt like I knew where this book was going and that is exactly where it went. There weren't any surprises or unexpected plot twists, just exactly where I thought the book would go.

Damaged | Book Review

Damaged by H.M. Ward

My rating: 3 of 5 stars



Damaged is a nice, easy read. I read it in one day and I'm definitely not the fastest reader. It took a little over 4 hours.
This book doesn't take any thought, and that it why I gave it 3 stars. I feel a bit cheater that we didn't learn, or should I say, feel much of Sidney's past. We had a small glimpse of it and that was all. I don't feel like she grew as a person. She was still the guarded person she was at the beginning of the book
Now let's talk about Peter a little bit. Ah, Peter, Peter, Peter. You sound hot, like really hot, but I feel like the author makes you out to be a little weak. At that scene at the end of the book, you didn't step up to the plate.
I also didn't find out anything about your story! Okay, so we found out 1/4 of the story. What happened to the girl? We know what happened to you, but what else happened on that dreaded night?
There is a book two, but am I interested enough to buy the 2nd one? Eh.....we'll see. It was a nice, light read.
