Thief by Tarryn Fisher | Book Review

6 Stars. Yep 6
Thief is book 3 in the Love Me With Lies series by Tarryn Fisher.

Shut the F up. Just shut it right now. There are few books that have the ability to leave me hung over, wish that an epilogue did not exist and that I could read a series over for the first time, but the Love Me With Lies (The Opportunist, Dirty Red and Thief) series is one of them.
Hot damn this series is so different from other books you have read. There is lies, deceit, more lies, soul mates, red hair, black hair, blonde hair, children, trees, an orange orchard, airplanes, Rome, college, parents, amnesia, ect. It has everything. Everything a unique, eloquently written book needs to be on my book hangover list. Every. Thing.
I'm hoping my fellow book lovers have read some of the series, and if you have, I know you have read both The Opportunist and Dirty Red, because once you finish The Opportunist, you have no choice in life but to immediately start Dirty Red. It just is, like Caleb and Olivia's love.
I'm going to try and give you a little bit more about the book, but I don't want to ruin the first two for anyone, but that is sacrilegious.
In Thief, Caleb fights. He fights with everything he has to get Olivia back and will not give up this time. He must make her realize that he won't ever give up on her. He will either have her or be alone for the rest of his life. It isn't fair to anyone to give them just a piece of his heart when it wholly belongs to Olivia. He will never get over her.
That dirty red bitch, Leah, still has hooks in Caleb along with bitchy tricks up her sleeve. She still won't stop fighting for Caleb. Oh man the dirty tricks she play on him concerning Estella is unfathomable....and she brings Olivia into it, again. Fuck!
The story is told via past and present tense from Caleb's point of view. It weaves their past lies and heartache into the present heartache and circumstance.
Caleb gets Olivia. I love that he gets her, heart, soul and body. He understands her even more than she understands herself. He knows her actions. He knows her tells. He just knows, and he uses it to his advantage.
On the story goes, ebbing and flowing into a perfect crescendo. It is a heart racing, heart breaking, heart pounding ride this book. Thief is named perfectly because it stole a piece of even my heart. That is a rare gift that an author has when they can do that to me, and Tarryn Fisher, Bravo. Brav-O.
