Blurb:

Sarah Miller hasn’t been home in seven years. She thought she could stay away forever. If it wasn’t for her big brother's wedding, that is. Part of her even feels silly for staying away this long. It's not like anyone even knew what happened. Well, except for him.
That guy. The one she compared all others to. The one who set the bar so high no other guy after him could even compete. The one who made her feel like anything was possible. The one she thought she would never be good enough for. The one she spent the last seven years trying to forget.
All she needs to do is make it through the next week without running into him.

Review:
Eekks. Let's get it started. I have been waiting a couple weeks to gush about this book to you guys. Gush I tell you.
So, I love to read. Duh, right? I usually read in bed, but I also love to read in the bath. So, I got this ARC (advanced review copy) for my honest review, and I couldn't put the damn thing down.
I started reading it in the bath. After adding hot water to the bath twice and 2 hours later, I grudgingly set the kindle down, quickly toweled off, put my bath towel on and headed to my room.
I closed and locked my door because, hell, I didn't have time to get dressed and shit. I had a book to read!
Boy did I read. I hated that it was late, and with my inability to sleep, I have to take Ambien. Why am I telling you this? Because I HAVE to have 8 hours of sleep or I won't remember things. So, it was getting late and I had to book the book down. The next day after work I continued my quest to finish this book.

So, my thoughts.....

This is a nice, light-hearted chicklit kind of read. If you have been reading something dark, pick this one up to get you feeling good again.

Will and Sarah (Millerlite) start out as best friends and develop it into something more. Sarah felt like she wasn't good enough for Will, who is popular and hot, but is good enough to be his best friend.
I can totally relate to her feelings. I have never felt like I could date a really hot guy. As much as my husband tells me I'm cute, I feel like he's just saying that because he has to. Anyone else feel that way? I get you Sarah.
Will thinks Sarah is amazing. He didn't have a crush on her at first, but after working on a project together, he noticed her. Like really noticed her.
The story progresses and they get together. Sarah is still insecure and when a situation happens, she focuses on her insecurity and runs. Like, went home, packed a bag and drove away.
I don't want to say anymore because I don't want to ruin the story for you. I could go on and on, but the author wrote it in an awesome way. Carey told it from both in present time and past.

Interview Time:
I got something special for everyone: an interview I did with Carey. I asked some important questions that you are going to have about the book, plus some personal questions, so make sure and finish reading the interview. Carey's pretty awesome.

What's your work space like? <---care to share an image?

My work space has recently changed. When I wrote Him I didn't have a space dedicated to writing, it was just me and my junky green laptop. I mainly write in the evening so most nights I was just sitting on my bed. Since then I've gotten a desk! My desk is in the corner of our family/playroom so I might have to sidestep Legos most days on my way to it but I love having my own writing spot now. The desk I got was something special as well. Many years ago my husband's family owned a furniture company called Heywood Wakefield. My new to me desk...you guessed it! A Heywood Wakefield :)

Are you more of an introvert or extrovert?
Is both an option? I am a total homebody. I dread leaving my house, dread it, have sometimes complete anxiety over it but, once I'm out I'm good. Seriously, life of the party. Makes no sense... <----- Me too!

Do you have a book boyfriend and if so, who is it?
I have a few ;)
Reid from Let Love In
Dex from EIT
Remy from Real <----Yep

Favorite drink while working?
Fizzy water or if I need something stronger a rum and coke

Cliffhangers or no cliffhangers? (do you like to use them)
I am personally not a fan. It bugs me that some people feel the end of Him is a cliffhanger. I agree the end is abrupt but I don't think there is a question as to their relationship status. <---- Word

Music/TV or Silence? What are you listening to while your write?
Silence, but I have been known to write with kids shows on to keep the 3yo happy.

What is your guiltiest pleasure? No judging here on Chapter Break.
Swedish Fish....love them!

You said your husband will always be your Him. Explain. (did a similar situation happen to you, or why is he your Him?)
I met my husband when I was 17 years old. My sister shared a place with 3 people when she was in college. There is also a seven year age difference between my husband and I. When he saw me he did a double take and asked who I was. My sister replied over my dead body. I thought he was really cute when I saw him too but my sister, who was only being protective was not going to let anything happen. Years passed during which I moved away to Arizona. When I moved back to Virginia I was a single mother, living with my mother. To say I needed a night out would be an understatement but my two best friends were off having their own adventures. One was in the Air Force and stationed in Japan, the other was studying abroad in England. When my sister told me Seth still lived in town I asked her to give him my number and the rest is history. He was also a single parent and now together we have Emma our 3 yo. I've seen some reviews that wish the 7 year time frame was shorter for Will and Sarah but I liked it because in using that timeframe I kinda pulled from my own life.

If Will loved Sarah so much, was so much a part of her family, why didn't he convince the family to talk to her for him? <---- huge question that a lot of us are wondering
Sarah's parents believed that whatever is meant to be will be. They didn't want to get involved. They loved both of them but knew Sarah had some growing up to do and wanted to give her the space she needed to do so. Brian on the other hand thought she was being an idiot but since he had gotten so close to Will over the years he didn't want his involvement to change his relationship with or opinion of either of them.

When Will's mother cried during that scene, was she sorry for what she did, or upset they were together?
She was 100% upset they were together. <--- what a hooker!

I loved how you wrote back-and-forth between past and present. What inspired you to tell the story this way?
This is the first time I have ever done that. I'm not sure what prompted me to start, it just felt right.

I really enjoyed the character Sawyer. What inspired her character? Will we be seeing more of her in Her? Maybe a novella?
There is MUCH more to come on Sawyer. She is in Her and I plan to write a novel based on her.

Why did Jessica go to Italy with Will's family? Did Will's mother set that up?
You will see much more about that in Her. <--- damnit. I really wanted this one answered. grrr... lol

I see that you are writing Will's version of the story, Her. When is the release date for that book?
Her is basically done and with my betas. I am hoping for an early Nov release. <--- Sweet Baby Jesus it can't come fast enough

Are you working on other books, or completely new books that have nothing to do with the Him/Her series?
I am just over halfway of my first draft for a book called Better. This book is completely unrelated to Him/Her. Once I'm done with Better I plan to write Sawyer's story. <---- Yes! More Sawyer. I bet her story is cray cray. Did I really just type cray cray?

Will the Him/Her series be wrapped up by the end and include an epilogue if needed?
There is no epilogue to Her but the timeline does go out months past where Him ended and I hope will leave all my readers fulfilled.

What celebrity would you pick for Sarah, Will, Jessica, Uncle and Sawyer?
My Sarah is Leighton Meester, my Will is Chris Pine, my Jessica is Elisha Cuthbert, my Uncle Chip is Harrison Ford and my Sawyer is Hayley Williams.
Sarah
 Will
Jessica
Uncle Chip
Sawyer

What is the best best advice you ever received?

I'll say two things, first and foremost be yourself, write what makes you happy.
Secondly, in life to keep asking questions. If you ask one person and they either don't reply or give you a non answer don't let that stop you. Find someone else, ask your questions again. Keep asking, keep going, there are people out there who you will befriend along the way and when the time comes that someone comes to you with questions return the favor and answer them :)

What is one thing you do better at than most?
I'm struggling over this question...okay, here goes this might sound weird but I've always been crazy good at standardized tests. I don't enjoy them but kinda rock at them.

What is one thing that you do worse at than most?
I suck at spelling, I stump spellcheck on a regular basis. When someone asks me to spell a word out loud? I'd rather jump out of a plane. I've struggled with dyslexia my whole life. I've pretty much conquered it reading wise but not so much with spelling.

Last words or words of encouragement? Anything else we would love to know?
I'm chatty, I love to talk. Please feel free to message me on my Facebook page or through Twitter. I'm also going to be at the Stamford Author signing in CT on Aug 10th if anyone would like to meet me in person.

Thank you so much Carey. You're pretty awesome for answering all my ridiculous questions.
